SEALz® Intumescent Fire Grilles, or Intugrilles, were developed to meet a growing demand for mounted ventilation cores in fire-resistant doors and walls. The fire grille comprises a galvanized steel section containing two to four steel mesh sheets which are coated with a specially formulated graphite-based intumescent material.

In normal use, the grille system allows air to be circulated throughout the building. During a fire, the intumescent material rapidly expands to close the opening and provide a fire barrier to restrict the passage of flame, hot gases and smoke.

The Grille is strong but lightweight, the material is resistant to atmospheric carbon dioxide, moisture and is easy to install.

SEALz® Intugrilles are available with timber or aluminum louver finish to any RAL color, providing complete freedom of choice and allowing matching with other ventilators or door furniture. Available ex-stock in a standard size 204mm high x 254mm wide x 43mm thick. Customized sizes and fixing strips or lugs are available upon special request.

SEALz® Intugrilles have been tested and comply with BS476: Part 20 and other international standards for 30-120 mins fire protection.
